I have stayed in many choice hotels over the years. Some mediocre, some good, and some awful. I'm afraid this property falls into the latter category. Check-in was easy and the young man was very polite. The carpet needs shampooing badly. Wear shoes or slippers! As we were sitting down to eat our dixie lee chicken dinner, I notice a large toenail on the carpet. So much for the chicken. Resigned, I use a tissue and pick it up and throw it in the toilet. We settle in after hauling in all the luggage and stuff that comes along with staying in a hotel. The beds are relatively comfortable, but the pillows are the stuff of nightmares. Lumpy squishy mushed-up sad pillows. The bathroom fan makes the appropriate sound making you think it's working, but it most certainly does not. Far and away however is the bag of garbage that was left under the table from the previous guests. A. Bag. Of. Garbage. Now, I'm sure one wonders how you wouldn't notice a black bag of garbage left in the room. I can only tell you we didn't. It was under the table, and amidst bringing the luggage in and getting settled, and eating dinner, it went unnoticed until the morning. Now, I have no way at all to prove that this bag of garbage wasn't ours. I can only tell you it wasn't. We opened the bag to find empty cigarette packages, and immediately we knew that someone hadn't brought it into the room by mistake, and forgot to mention it. No smokers in our group. Also, food wrappers that we didn't eat. It was not our garbage. I should have asked for a refund, but in all honesty, I just wanted to get out of there and be on our way.
Excellent
