Guanyinqiao/ 9 Street Chongqing|3.43km from city center
The location is fine for what I wanted. It is close to dozens of fantastic cafes, bars and restaurants on and around Ziwei street. However, I’m not sure I’d choose it again. It’s a bit old and tired now. The rooms were once apartments; there is a small kitchen unit (no longer equipped). The worst thing was the disgusting smell of stale cigarette smoke in my non-smoking room. Even after 48 hours of open windows, it made no difference. The shower suddenly went freezing cold for a second or two approximately every minute (both mornings) and the utterly bizarre hard and sharp plastic spikes on the shower mat did not exactly improve the mood! The city view room is not worth paying for. It is a city view, but no landmarks. The traffic is noisy all night (especially with windows open due to cigarette smells)! As an internationally branded hotel, they need to do better in terms of stamping out smoking. I think I could have done better for the money and will seek to do so the next time I’m in Chongqing.

Although the hotel is clearly older, all the appliances are well maintained and in good shape, my room was clean and comfortable - one chair was really ready to be replaced, sagging through, but I just used the other one. The breakfast buffet was very good with only one exception: the chocolate donuts were stale. Plenty of other baked goods were delicious, though. Location was perfect for exploring the heart of Chongqing and close to metro station Lianglukou which is a good starting point to get to many sights. I would stay here again as service was prompt and friendly, too.

This was a surprising find! Glenview ITC Plaza Chongqing wasn’t on my radar at first—it was booked by my supplier’s travel agent for the main group. For convenience, I decided to stay here before everyone else arrived, and I’m so glad I did! ✅ Huge Room – Spacious and comfortable, perfect for unwinding after a long day. ✅ Fantastic Location – Right in Chongqing’s CBD but slightly away from the busiest areas. Easy access to 解放碑 (Jiefangbei) and 十八梯 (Shibatiba) while still enjoying peace and quiet at night. ✅ Great Service – Friendly staff and smooth experience throughout my stay. ✅ Free Airport Shuttle – A huge bonus! The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle bus to and from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG)—one less headache for travelers. But the real highlight? The breakfast buffet! 🍜🥢 Not only is there an incredible variety of choices, but they have a noodle station serving authentic Chongqing noodles—a perfect way to sample local flavors before venturing out into the city. And get this—the buffet runs from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM (not a typo! 1:30 PM!). No pressure to wake up early; you can take your time and even treat it as an early lunch before heading out to explore. Another bonus? 鲁祖庙 (Luzu Temple area) is right next door, a trendy spot filled with stylish cafés and restaurants—perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea or coffee. I enjoyed my stay so much that I canceled my booking at Mercure and extended my stay here for an extra two nights after the group left. Definitely a hidden gem in Chongqing! #Chongqing #GlenviewITCPlaza #HotelStay #LuxuryTravel #ChongqingFood #TravelChina #AirportShuttle #StressFreeTravel

Nice hotel in great location with walking distance to Hongya Cave, Kuixing Tower and Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street. Front desk and concierge staffs are friendly and helpful. Clean room and spacious. Thank you for the welcome gift. Only feedback is pillow too soft and flat. The chief at egg station was reluctant to make sunny side up when my husband requested on Day 1. Was staying at the hotel in May this year but this time round the original 2 rooms that was assigned I am very disappointed that the Aircon was not working well. First time, they said that due to winter and it's all central system controlled so it's like this. They tried to solve the issue by bringing a cooler.. tried and it's totally no use at all. I compared the 2 rooms and my parents room was much warmer than mine so I had no choice but to go down and inform them about it. They did an excellent recovery by changing another room for my parents and they offered a suite for them. The room this time round is very cooling.. much cooler than mine but it's ok mine is still alright. I hope they will look into proper maintenance of the hotel.

The overall experience was good and I extreme impressed by the staff called Xiao Ru. She has been welcoming us with warmth and care from the first day we arrived Travelling with kids was always challenging but Xiao Ru has provided excellent service and patience for our queries. She has been kind enough to follow up if we need any further assistance on a daily basis. We had an early travel plan and she ensured her colleagues in another shift sending fruit to us every day after her shift. Additionally, she assisted the laundry pick up from our room and ready before our return to the room. Since we were on a night flight, a complimentary late check out was really helpful to ease out hassle. The breakfast was pretty good with a variety of options and the location was superb too. The hotel is backed by Tieshanping, with green trees and fresh air, making it a great place to relax. The hotel's restaurants are all unique. The Spanish restaurant offers authentic Spanish cuisine, and the seafood risotto is unforgettable; the Chinese restaurant specializes in Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine, which is spicy but not dry, fresh and delicious; the afternoon tea in the lobby bar is even more exquisite, with desserts and coffee perfectly matched. SASA Western Restaurant has a seafood buffet with fresh and diverse dishes. There are a variety of parent-child entertainment projects. Children can play on slides and swings in the pine cone park, and can also experience special projects such as the dynamic grid and kayaking. The hotel also provides outdoor activities such as small trains and go-karts, so that children can enjoy the fun of spring. The hotel's service is thoughtful and considerate, and Corina is warm and friendly, impressive, and makes people feel the warmth of home. Fantastic stay outside the bustle of urban Chongqing. Very comfortable rooms with private hot springs, I’d also recommend trying out the bathroom’s steam room. Got upgraded to a villa which further amplified all the perks of staying at a resort like this, great privacy while still being within a few mins of the lobby. Clover was a great point of contact during my stay, helping me book and pay for stuff at the hotel, Eric also took the time to help me book a Didi ride. As a foreigner visiting Chongqing I was glad to have their help. Very beautiful hotel grounds, and within 30 minutes of the aesthetic downtown Beibei district of Chongqing. Spacious room generally clean with all amenities provided. Location of the hotel was superb as it’s at the center of where all the famous must see places are (generally all walkable with 20mins) However the room was advertised as river view which was you could see it but there are definitely buildings blocking the view. Secondly housekeeping wasn’t the cleanest, I found they sometimes just refold used towels instead of replacing them.

Jiefangbei Area/Hong Ya Dong Chongqing|2.83km from city center
Amazing location - we didn’t even have to take public transport to go around as we were close to everything - Jiafangbei Square, Chongqing food street, People’s Monument, Cableway, Hongya Cave and Kuxing building were all walking distance. The hotel is so close to restaurants and has a convenience store at the ground floor. The rooms are so spacious. The bed is so comfortable. The staff are easy to deal with via weChat or in person. We had to check out super early at 2AM and the girls told us what to do - super easy process. Would recommend staying here if you are going to Chongqing!
