Arrived at the hotel and greeted by friendly staffs. The room is big and comfortable. Staff readily offered to help me with transport to Yungang grottos. And thanks to them, I also managed to get transport and ticket to the Hanging Temple. Breakfast is fantastic too (although it was the same noodle for 2 days 😄). The hotel is also conveniently located at the foot of the ancient wall north gate, and I can enjoy myself quite late into the night without worry for safety. After 3 nights stay, the staff sent me off with a big smile. Overall, my stay in Datong is fantastic. Thank you ☺️

the hotel is only 20mins travel from the airport which is wonderful for my business trip because i need to go to my customer located nearby. the services and facilities are also better than other local hotel. it is my third time staying this hotel, will definitely choose the same hotel on my next trips.

The area is quiet but close to attractions and shopping streets 大同不夜城. It is located next to the datong ancient city walls north gate, within walking distance to nine dragons wall, huayan temple, shanhua temple and the Southeast Yi Historical and Cultural Block. There is also a bus stop outside that goes round the area.Cab fare is less than 30 rmb to Yungang Grottoes and Datong south highspeed train station. Friendly and attentive staff checking for allergy if any. The owner was kind enough to meet me at the train station. Breakfast is simple fare consists of millet congee with side dishes, tasty noodles in warm broth, toasts and local pastries etc. Freshly made coffee from a semi auto coffee maker. Hotel serves light sweet soup to guests before dinner. Free fruits and cookies in the lobby. Washing machine and dryer are avail for use. My room has an overhead projector with wide selection of movies. Clean and comfortable. Room has many wall sockets for charging. Bathroom is huge. Deposit 200 rmb as all the facilities are brand new. Enjoyable stay. Datong is delightful a comination of the old and new.

Room was big, clean, comfortable and nicely designed. Toiletries and breakfast included, good food. Staff very friendly, helpful and patient with my attempts at chinese/using a translator app. Overall great value, no issues at all.

One of the hosts at reception was exceptional, and she not only offered wonderful device and care to me but also to every guest I saw her interacting with (I didn't learn her name, alas). One interesting note: I stayed there on a Friday and Saturday night, and there was a firework show on both evenings in Fanatwild next door. The booming sound startled me at first, but I quickly realized what it was.

The facilities are great. The rooms are incredibly nice, clean and full of details. As for the staff, they are super nice. Especially Rio, the general manager, we had a problem with not being able to contact the hotel at the next destination and she did us the favor of speaking with them. Her kindness, poise, willingness, dedication and how well she speaks English saved our trip. We will always have great memories of this place and of her in particular. 10/10.

Manxin Hotel has always been the first choice for travel. The hotel has complete facilities and a gym. The service is very warm. Nice hotel just outside of the old city - reachable with a 5 minute didi. The staff were very professional and helpful. The room was brand new, clean and comfortable. Stay was nearly perfect with only a few minor gripes. When we asked for extra pillows we were told there were none available, the gym was a little bit small, but the 24 hour gym opening time was excellent. The western food at the breakfast buffet seemed like it had bit sitting out for a while and wasn't super fresh. However, the Chinese food was excellent and the staff were happy to make some vegetarian fried rice for us to suit our dietary needs. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Datong. The staff were so helpful and kind.

Great location, quiet neighborhood but not far from the center. The room is clean , comfortable and has the atmosphere of an old traditional home. It is the service that needs significant improvement to warrant the current four star rating.  The price was for two people and yet, there was one tea bag per person, a very small roll of toilet paper and the facial tissue bixes were almost empty. The breakfast was no better: ine boiled egg, a small bun, a bowl of sweet porridge and a tiny slice (about one tenth) of a sweet potato and a root vegetable, with a tiny portion of pickled cabbage. For a mainland B&B well below standard. What’s more, the old nan who was on duty in the morning would pick up dirt from the floor while handling food with bare hands and had trouble finding toilet paper in the storage room while I waited outside in freezing weather. The host is friendly and helped with orientation and organizing transfers to the railway station, so with little improvement in service this could be a good choice for Pingyao.
