The Smart Cycling Course, hosted by BikeMN, is designed to equip cyclists with the necessary skills to navigate urban traffic safely and within the confines of the law. This course serves as a prerequisite for the LCI, offering participants the confidence they need to ride with ease. Throughout the training, cyclists will learn about bicycle safety checks, fixing flat tires, on-bike skills, crash avoidance techniques, and will receive a comprehensive student manual.

This intensive ten-hour course spans over two days and is divided into Friday evening and Saturday sessions. Participants can choose to attend in person or join virtually through the hybrid option. For those opting for the hybrid option, they can attend virtually on Friday and in person on Saturday. To learn more about the hybrid option, please reach out to Angela at angela@bikemn.org.

On Saturday, participants are required to bring their bicycles, helmets, snacks/lunch, and a water bottle. Dressing comfortably and appropriately for the weather is highly recommended. The course takes place at the Bicycle Alliance of MN, located at 3745 Minnehaha Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55406.

The Smart Cycling Course is open to individuals aged 16 and above. Whether you're a novice cyclist or an experienced rider looking to enhance your skills, this course will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to become a proficient bicycle driver.
