Experience the thrill of Halloween at the Bonfire & Boos (Adult Halloween Event) hosted by Thurber House, a renowned nonprofit literary arts center in Columbus, Ohio. Join us from October 28th to October 31st for an evening filled with spooky stories, haunted tours, and more! 

The event kicks off with the Bonfire Social, where you can drop in any time between 6:00-8:00 pm and cozy up next to the bonfire with your own lawn chair or blanket. Sit back, relax, and enjoy spine-chilling stories by author John Kachuba as he shares his eerie tales by the fire. Books by the author will also be available for purchase during the event. 

For those brave enough, take part in the optional Haunted Tours of Thurber House. Choose your preferred time slot between 6:00-8:00 pm and embark on a special spooky tour of the historically haunted Thurber House. Discover the real-life historical events that have led to decades of ghostly activity at 77 Jefferson Avenue, as well as Thurber House's most intriguing ghost stories. 

This adults-only event is exclusively for those aged 21 and older. Indulge in a night of spooky storytelling, haunted tours, and drinks amidst the atmospheric setting of Thurber House. Don't miss the opportunity to enter our Ghost Investigation Raffle for a chance to win a private ghost investigation at Thurber House on November 17th, the anniversary of James Thurber's infamous encounter with a ghost. Accompany a professionally equipped paranormal investigation team and uncover the truth behind the haunting. 

Parking is available on Jefferson Avenue and in the small lot behind Thurber House. The event is accessible for wheelchair users, with a dedicated ramp entrance. In case of inclement weather, all activities will be moved indoors to Thurber Center.
