Birmingham x CoMA Open Participation Day (CoMA Festival 2024) presents a delightful and engaging music-making experience for all skill levels. This exciting event is set to take place at the prestigious Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in Birmingham, West Midlands. Explore new music, meet talented local musicians, and have a fantastic time at this playful day of music-making. Led by the esteemed composer and conductor, Sara Caneva, participants will have the opportunity to form a 'scratch band' and perform thrilling pieces from the CoMA Catalogue, as well as new compositions by RBC student composers. Regardless of your instrument, voice type, ability, or level of experience, everyone is welcome to join in the fun. The event schedule is as follows: from 11am to 1pm, attendees can partake in a scratch ensemble session led by Sara Caneva, where they will get to play enjoyable and accessible works from the CoMA Catalogue. Following that, there will be a one-hour lunch break (please note that lunch will not be provided). From 2pm to 4pm, participants can try out compositions by RBC student composers. This event is part of CoMA's initiative to establish a regular ensemble in the West Midlands. By participating, you not only get to engage with the vibrant music community but also contribute to the growth and development of the group. The necessary music will be made available before the sessions, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all. Birmingham x CoMA Open Participation Day (CoMA Festival 2024) aims to make new music accessible to everyone.
