Embark on a transformative journey with the 5-Week Hand Building Course for Beginners and Improvers - Series 1 in Portstewart. Led by experienced ceramicist Fiona Shannon, this course will take place at Flowerfield Arts Centre from 10 April to 8 May 2024, every Wednesday from 2.30 to 4.30 pm. Participants will delve into the art of hand-building, exploring techniques such as slab building, coiling, pinch pots, and press moulds to create a variety of pottery pieces like vases and bowls. The highlight of the course will be the application of vibrant slips to bring your creations to life. All materials are included in the ticket price of £145 (£130 concession). Finished items will be fired and clear-glazed by the tutor for collection at a later date. Attendees are advised to wear an apron and clothes suitable for a bit of mess, and it is recommended to trim nails short before the class.
