Orchid Quartet is proud to present an unforgettable evening of music with their concert, "Song Quartets (OQ X Part 1)". This unique event brings together the talents of Orchid Quartet and five incredible artists to reimagine their songs with a string quartet. Taking place on October 17th in beautiful Mount Washington, Los Angeles, this one-night-only experience is not to be missed. The Sablemen club at ITTS offers a comprehensive course called Defensive Handgun I, which covers the basics of defensive handgun shooting, as well as tactical and accuracy shooting. This course is perfect for individuals who are new to firearms or have limited formal handgun training. It is also beneficial for experienced shooters who are seeking a review of the fundamentals or haven't received formal training. The course is designed to provide a strong understanding of modern gunfighting and defensive pistol use, making it an ideal foundation for our other courses.
Defensive Handgun I is a two-part instructional course that includes both online and range sessions. The online session is held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, while the range session takes place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We provide all the necessary equipment, including gun rental for those who don't own a pistol. All you need to do is sign up, bring a belt and sunglasses, and we'll take care of the rest.
Throughout the course, you'll cover a range of topics, including setting up a safe room in your home, the use of deadly force, handgun selection and setup, situational awareness, developing a combat mindset, firearms safety, fundamental shooting principles, drawing from the holster, loading and unloading techniques, and various shooting drills. You'll also have the opportunity to engage with steel targets and participate in shoot-off events.
No prerequisites or prior experience are necessary to enroll in Defensive Handgun I. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced shooter, starting with this course is a wise choice. By the end of the course, you'll have acquired valuable skills and knowledge that will enhance your abilities with a handgun.
To participate in the course, you'll need a cleaned and oiled pistol of at least 9mm caliber, two magazines, a sturdy belt that fits through your pant's belt loop, a holster, eye and ear protection, and 150-250 rounds of factory ammunition. With a ticket price of $499, this course offers a comprehensive and immersive learning experience that is worth the investment.

When Gemma FINALLY becomes a niner and starts the new school year, she quickly finds out Degrassi High isn’t everything she thought it’d be. Amid cheerleaders web-camming to raise money for their uniforms, drug-addicted hockey stars, lessons about puberty given in song format, and a massive boiler room explosion that puts the school’s dance in jeopardy, the naive and hopeful Gemma becomes less and less sure she can be a part of the world of Degrassi. But with her jock older brother and a really hot (but poor) hearse-driving bad boy named Ace by her side, Gemma navigates the hurdles of this super-typical, not-dramatic-at-all Canadian high school, and finds her own way to fit in—whatever it takes. Vielmetter Los Angeles invites guests to gather in honor of artist Steve Roden on the occasion of his tribute solo exhibition, floating over the silent world. Michael Ned Holte and Alison O’Daniel will remember their mutual friend and collaborator Steve Roden with a program of words, images, sounds, and a conversation. Guest Parking Available. Michael Ned Holte is a writer, curator, and educator living in Los Angeles. Since 2009, he has been a member of the faculty of the Program in Art at CalArts, and he currently serves as an Associate Dean of the School of Art. He is the author of Good Listener: Meditations on Music and Pauline Oliveros, forthcoming from Sming Sming Books. His collaborations with Steve Roden include the exhibition and publication when words become forms, Pomona College Museum of Art, 2010, and a reconsideration of Allan Kaprow’s 18 Happenings in Six Parts, at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) in 2008. Alison O’Daniel is a d/Deaf visual artist and filmmaker. Her film The Tuba Thieves was written in response to original music composed by Steve Roden. It premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and was broadcast on Independent Lens on PBS in 2024. O’Daniel is a United States Artist 2022 Disability Futures Fellow and a 2022 Guggenheim Fellow in Film/Video. She is represented by Commonwealth and Council in Los Angeles and is an Associate Professor of Film at California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
