BWRAG’s Surf Responder Summit is a two-day training designed for surfers and ocean enthusiasts of all levels and ability. This course teaches you how to be a Surf Responder: an ocean athlete who not only knows how to mitigate their own personal risk, but can also serve as an asset and help others in an emergency situation. SCHEDULE (subject to change) Day 1 LOCATION: Newport Beach Aquatic Center: 1 Whitecliffs Dr, Newport Beach, CA 92660 CURRICULUM: Ocean Risk Management / CPR / First-Aid and Medical Interventions / Spot Analysis / Safety EquipmentDay 2 LOCATION: Newport Beach Aquatic Center: 1 Whitecliffs Dr, Newport Beach, CA 92660 CURRICULUM: Emergency Action Planning / Mindful Breathing & Energy Management / Water Rescue Training (Unassisted Swim Rescue, Surfboard Rescue, C-Spine Extrication)++ ++This Summit will not feature the MRV (Jet-ski) rescue portion of the Water Rescue Module. Instead, students will role-play rescue scenarios where they will synthesize learnings from both days into tangible, practical rescue situations that are most common to this region.
