Join the Teen Filmmaking Class with renowned independent Filmmaker William F. Reed and discover the exciting world of filmmaking. This hands-on film class, hosted by the Bee Cave Arts Foundation in collaboration with The Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts, offers aspiring teen filmmakers the opportunity to learn how to conceptualize, create, and produce a short film.
Over the course of two afternoons, students will receive basic equipment instruction, pitch story ideas, write scripts, and prepare for the shoot day. On the shooting day, students will have the chance to put their scripts into action and work on various cast and crew roles based on their interests and experiences. The post-production phase will focus on scene shooting and the editing process, culminating in a fully edited film for presentation.
This film school training promises a fun and engaging experience for all participants, as they collaborate with their peers and showcase their creativity. Don't forget to invite your family and friends to the premiere showing of the short film at the end of the class!
The class will be held at The Hive by Bee Cave Arts Foundation in Bee Cave, Texas, on December 9th and 10th from 12pm to 6pm. Limited to only 10 students, it is advisable to reserve your spot early. To ensure you have a comfortable experience, please bring a notebook, water bottle, snacks, and a laptop if available.
About William F. Reed: With a career spanning film and TV, Reed has worked on notable projects such as Star Trek and The Academy Awards. As the founder of Rude Boy Pictures, he has recently distributed his first feature film, The Good Hearts Club. Reed shares his passion for filmmaking by teaching at The Austin School of Film and The Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts, as well as through his organization, Reel Preservation Society.
