This event pays homage to golf legend Gloria Menoprio, a remarkable player who made history in the 1933 Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship. Known for her boldness and determination, Gloria played with a single club, a cleek, and was the first female competitor to don trousers during a tournament. The Northwest Hickory Players organization presents this exciting inaugural challenge, where participants will be required to wear trousers and utilize an original hickory-shafted iron with a loft of 25-degrees or less, commonly referred to as a "cleek iron." This unique twist aims to recreate the spirit of the bygone era of hickory golf and celebrate Gloria's pioneering achievements. The challenge will span nine holes and strictly prohibit the use of woods and any measuring devices.
