Visiting Tokyo Disneyland is an exciting experience. If you’re a first-time visitor, here are some useful tips to keep in mind to make the most of your trip:
Research and plan in advance: Familiarize yourself with the park layout, attractions, and show schedules before getting there. This can save you a lot of time. Also, make sure you download the official Tokyo Disneyland app. It provides real-time information on wait times, showtimes, and park maps.
Purchase tickets in advance and consider multi-day passes: Buy your Tokyo Disneyland tickets online in advance to avoid long lines at the entrance. If you plan to visit both Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, a multi-day pass might be more cost-effective.
Arrive early: Arriving early can help you get ahead of the crowds, especially for popular attractions.
Consider FastPass and the lottery system: FastPass can save you a lot of waiting time. Know which attractions offer FastPass and prioritize them. Also, keep in mind that some shows and parades use a lottery system for seating. Enter these lotteries through the app or in-park kiosks.
Shop later in the day: Shop for souvenirs later in the afternoon or evening so you don’t carry purchases all day. Also do note that some hotels offer a package delivery service for merchandise bought in the park.
Prepare for language barrier: Many staff members of Tokyo Disneyland speak English but having a translation app can be helpful. Park guides are available in English and can be helpful for non-Japanese speakers.
Respect local customs: Queuing politely, not running to attractions, and maintaining cleanliness is important in Japanese culture.
