OIA is a famous romantic town and a holy land for photography. Walk along a path amongst the blue-topped white houses, surrounded by the blue Aegean Sea. The best time for photography is after sunrise in the morning, and at dusk.

The red-sand beach is not far from the Acropolis site. It's like a place out of legend. The seawater is surrounded by large dark red towering rocks. Perissa Black Sand Beach is a famous mineral beach in Santorini. There are many travelers there during the peak tourist season. In fact, the beach is composed of small sandstone that was deposited by volcanic eruptions that has weathered over a long time. It is now a unique attraction in Santorini. It’s also one of the most popular places for photographers. The distinctive black-sand beach makes for some unique photos.

Ancient Thera has traces of Greek, Roman, and Byzantine civilizations and is located at the top of a hill. You can get near the scenic spot by driving along a narrow ring highway and then take a short walk up to it. It is a great place to take photos with the wonderful scenery as a background. People be awestruck when surrounded by the historical sites from thousands of years ago with the majestic sea in the background.

Fira is the capital of the Aegean island of Santorini. The town is built on the edge of a 400m high volcano in the west of Santorini, making it a marvelous sight to behold. All the white walls of the houses in the town and the light blue roofs merge with the sky and the sea. Any random shot would make for a great postcard photo.

Fira is a bustling location and is not only a traditional residential area, but also a commercial and tourist center in Santorini. The transportation is very convenient in the town, and many hotels are available. There are direct buses from the town to Oia, Black Beach and Red Beach, which can be taken from the transit station in Santorini.

Imerovigli is also a small town in Santorini. The town is best known for the Cliff Hotel, where you can experience the most characteristic accommodation in Santorini.

This small village is located on a high cliff, and the scenery along the cliff footpath that goes from Thera-Firostefani-Imerovigli is very beautiful, making it a great location on the island for a walking tour. The stone path with its ups and downs extends to the end of the sea and the sky, and there are also shops, restaurants, cafés and bars on both sides of the footpath. You can stroll along here enjoying the delightful scenery and Mediterranean sunshine.

The volcano has gradually become a volcanic island rising out of the sea after multiple underwater eruptions. The volcano is currently in its dormancy period and thus very safe. The trip to the crater has become one of the most common tourist trips in Santorini.

There are ships to the volcanic island from Santorini in summer. The volcano activities organized by many travel agencies consist of climbing volcanoes, swimming in hot springs, eating on Thirasia Island opposite Santorini, and finally returning to Santorini to watch the sunset.

In this museum you can taste wine and learn about the liquor-making history of the island. If you're lucky, you can also see the owner of the local winery and be invited to his house to sample his delicious wine. Furthermore, the event “Nighttime in Greece” is held every Sunday evening (during opening time on Sunday) and you can see fighting, traditional dances, and music, and other entertainment events.

The beautiful port of Santorini, situated at the foot of Oia, is probably one of the best places to watch the sunset in Santorini. You can drive down there and enjoy a seafood feast while watching the sunset. Several seafood restaurants are gathered near the port, and the food is fresh and delicious, as it consists of fresh seafood caught on the same day.
