Exquisite facilities, new materials, daily housekeeping in a small 5-room hotel at the quiet side of the city. There's easy access of city centre by local bus every 30mins or if you prefer 15min on foot. Rooms are clean, spacious with artistic illumination. Free parking & a playground at the basement are surely assets. Congrats to Mrs Xanthi for her warm hospitality! We'll be back!

We went on a 10 day break - our first holiday with no children since our honeymoon 32 years ago! And what a place to go. From the minute you arrive the welcome is warm from the lovely staff on Reception. We spoke to Maria on arrival, who along with the rest of the front of house staff were excellent. Nothing too much trouble. Little touches with mattered - for example we had one of the ladies who service the room leave some towels on our bed in the shape of a heart with some flowers. Lovely touch. The properties are amazing, beautifully done out, we had a kitchen, fridge, washing machine and fridge freezer, a large sofa, big TV which we logged into our Netflix and Amazon accounts, and a dining room table. Outside a beautiful view - sun beds, and outside dining too. A lovely infinity pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and mini-gym with stunning views. The weather was beautiful, around 25 degrees C and clear blue skies. The only thing I would say is for someone like me with poor circulation the pool was a tad chilly, we plumped for it to be heated the last few days, but it was an extra 90 Euros a day. But worth it. Then there is the breakfast - you won't be disappointed, there is so much choice, English, Continental, Greek plus so much more. Salmon for breakfast every day! And the coffee is amazing, even decaffeinated for me. There was even Prosecco every other day! The staff. First class. Not only in their service, but the way they engage with you and turn eating a meal into an event. Wonderful people, Sofia and her team, I can't name them all, or remember all their names, but Manolis (and his sister!), Vitalis and Michalis, the young guy with them (I forgot your name!) as well as the guy on the bar (sorry forgot your name!) were a credit and a joy to spend time with, all of them. To all of you, thank you for making our holiday even more special! Be prepared on a Thursday night after dinner for some traditional Greek dancing, you have to join in, followed by a jump in the pool fully clothed with Vitalis. He will persuade you! Well, my wife, not me! Σας ευχαριστώ όλους. Neil and Teresa.
Elounda Bay Palace, a Member of the Leading Hotels of the World

We were looking for several things when we booked the Elounda Bay Palace, aside from the obvious in a 5 star hotel. (1). Good swimming - I'd give it 11 out of 10 for this. A large indoor pool, a large outdoor pool, and the best safe sea swimming ever in a sheltered sandy bay - we loved that. (2). Location - places to walk to (safely) from the hotel, no need to get a taxi or drive. 8 out of 10 for this. There are several excellent walks to explore the local area - along the pavement to Elounda village & harbour along the sea shore (turn right down the path where there's a big sign saying 'Nina's Organic House, don't continue down the main road). Also out via the causeway to the island, where there's a more challenging circular walk around a good part of the island ( some of this is on donkey tracks that donkeys would have found challenging - good footwear needed). (3) Location - a good range of local restaurants available within walking distance, plus supermarkets to buy snacks and a bottle of wine without having to pay hotel prices. 9 out of 10 for this. The Elounda area has lots of fairly well-off and well-behaved tourists (it's definitely not a cheap, noisy holiday destination) , and these tourists have generated a large number of restaurants in Elounda to choose from - at reasonable prices. (4) Also, it's really nice to have a hotel set in attractive grounds - I really love all the ancient olive trees and well-kept gardens. Yes, drinks at the hotel are expensive, and the buffet evening meal provided by half board isn't at the level of a Michelin star - but there were a very wide range of food options and we were rarely disappointed. Good food options for kids, vegetarians. The staff were friendly and helpful (our room cleaner was exceptional!), and our room was modern and well kitted out. The abandoned fortress/settlement on Spinalonga island - you can get a ferry from Elounda - is well worth a visit. We had an excellent time over a week's stay, and felt we had chosen our hotel well. Thanks to everyone at the hotel.

Lovely 3 days in Agios Nikolaos based from this small hotel. Rooms were fairly small, though adequate for 2 adults. Very clean and tastefully simple decor. All the women at the desk… Monique, Maria, Lea, and owner Nicoletta, were very helpful and knowledgeable. Beach around the corner, Ammos was small but fine for a few hours. Easy driving distance to other beaches. Good location to walk to many top-rated restaurants along port. Morning breakfast was very nice and filling. A/C (for Americans) was a bit loud and not particularly cool. Overall, pleasant stay and value!

Booked last minute & was very impressed especially for the money we paid, we had a double room on 2nd floor with town view great balcony with 2 chairs & table, the beds were so comfy made my stay, great little bathroom with a very powerful shower rooms were cleaned every day & towels changed very clean hotel. Breakfast was good selection of cereals. Yogurt, preserves ,honey, crusty bread, sliced bread for toast, eggs , bacon, selection of cheese & cooked meats, croissants. Juice, & great coffee machine. Lunch selection of salads soup & nice jugs of iced water that you could help yourself to & evening meal was very much the same always something you could find to eat. We went on the all inclusive deals as it only worked out about £10 more a day & that included any of your hot drinks, beer soft beverages & brandy, raki & ouzo, red white & rose wine which was drinkable was great for a spritzer. There was a lounge area & a nice seated area outside & we were very lucky with the weather was fab. Nice little pool & terrace area to cool off. The staff were very friendly & made your stay very enjoyable we had a great week in a clean friendly comfortable hotel Thank you 💕

Firstly I’d like to say a massive thank you to the hotel manager Nikolaos Thanellas, this is a truly amazing gentleman who has this very beautiful establishment running like a very fine Rolex, the staff here are fabulous, always smiling and very happy in the jobs they do, this makes the service to quests a lot more spectacular, Well done Nikolaos 👌 Maria Drakaki, Guest relations manager had given me and my partner a wonderful tour of the facilities and the various rooms the hotel has to offer prior to our next years booking, we both would like to thank you for your time and your hospitality, you did an amazing job just watch your knee on the cart handbrake in future 😁 George and Angela at the beach bar are absolutely fantastic even at this time me and my partner were not quests at the hotel they made us feel very welcome and we really do appreciate that. So thank you to both of you. As for the gentleman and his lady assist who’s names I’ve unfortunately forgotten, they run the beach restaurant and are also very amazing people, the quality of the food, the service, that combined with the friendliness of the staff makes the experience exceptional. However i do think that he may well be a comedian as he always made us laugh every time we visited him and nothing was too much trouble to fulfil our needs, that said this was only 5 days of 7 we stayed in Crete. 100%,,,,,! if your looking that perfect couple retreat that’s adult only you’ll be hard pushed to find a hotel in Greece or any other island that could compare to the standards that Royal Marmin Bay has to offer. Thank you to the rest of the staff at Royal Marmin Bay for such a wonderful experience and we will see you next year!! 🤟
