Türkiye Best cities to visit

Antalya is a large city on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. Setting in Turkish Riviera, Antalya is a popular resort destination. Founded in the 2nd century BCE, Antalya and the surrounding areas contain a treasure trove of cultural artifacts. Numerous empires ruled Antalya at various points and the city maintains this rich heritage. While temperatures can rise sharply in the high summer months, Antalya’s climate is typical for Mediterranean cities, mostly dry and pleasant. Whether you’re looking for history or just beautiful scenery, Antalya is a great destination.

Türkiye Transportation

Türkiye can be conveniently accessed via several modes of transportation. Air travel is the most popular and expedient option with numerous international flights arriving at its major cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. For sea travel enthusiasts, passenger and car ferries connect Türkiye with various international locations including Greece and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. For land transport, roads and rail connections on the Bosphorus Express link it to Europe and Asia.

Türkiye Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit Türkiye is during spring (from March to May) and autumn (from September to October). These seasons offer mild weather which is perfect for exploring the numerous historical and natural sites across the country. During spring, the blooming nature adds a vibrant touch to the scenery, while autumn prolongs the warmth of summer, making popular spots less crowded and more enjoyable. Moreover, temperatures in autumn range from 20°C to 30°C, contributing to a pleasant travel experience, especially for visiting ancient sites.

Türkiye Travel Tips

1. Respect Dress Codes at Religious Sites: When visiting mosques, such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, dress modestly. Women should cover their heads, shoulders, and knees, while men should avoid wearing shorts. Headscarves are provided for women if needed. 2. Respect Local Customs During Ramadan: During the holy month of Ramadan, avoid eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours out of respect for those who are fasting. Many restaurants may be closed until sunset. 3. Be Mindful of Body Language: Avoid using the OK gesture (a circle with thumb and forefinger) as it can be considered offensive in Türkiye. 4. Drone Usage Regulations: Flying drones is restricted in many areas, especially near historical sites, airports, and military zones. Drones over 500 grams must be registered with the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. Approval is required for commercial flights, and drones cannot fly above 120 meters. Always check no-fly zones and respect privacy laws before using a drone. 5. Tipping Guidelines: Tipping is customary in Türkiye. In restaurants, leave 10-15% if service charge isn't included. For hotel staff, taxi drivers, and tour guides, small tips are appreciated.

Türkiye Useful Guide

When traveling in Türkiye, be aware of natural disasters such as earthquakes and the heightened risk of wildfires, particularly in southern and western regions. Always familiarize yourself with local emergency procedures and maintain awareness of your surroundings. Adhere to road safety rules; ensure you wear a seatbelt and abide by the speed limits. Avoid using a cell phone while driving and prioritize pedestrian safety at crossings. For emergencies, dial 112 to reach medical aid, fire services, and the police. Keep emergency numbers handy. For police, dial 155, and for fire-related emergencies, you can use 110. Being prepared with these contacts and complying with driving regulations significantly enhances safety during your visit.

Hagia Sophia

avatar

The Church of Saint Sophia, with its magnificent Byzantine dome and millennium mosaic murals, is shocking, showing the perfect integration of religion and art; the mysterious stone pillars of the underground palace, the inverted Medusa statues and the legend of tearful columns, create an underground maze of fantasy atmosphere. The two attractions are adjacent and are cultural landmarks that cannot be missed in Istanbul. Trip.com It is convenient to book tickets, scan the code to enter, and there is no need to queue for tickets.

Istanbul has many historical places to visit Dolmapahçe, galata Tower, Blue Mosque 🕌 💙, aya Sofia, Sultan ahmet, and so on

Kaleici

a lovely city full of love and peace. Every corner of the kaleici old town is so charming. You can find here both calmness and chaotic of night life when the local bar is opened.

Hadrian's Gate

avatar
轻快的行走脚步
There is an ancient Roman city-state site on the Aegean coast of Turkey, leaving a large number of historical architectural sites, which is a good place to understand the history of ancient Rome! The Hadrian Gate is well preserved and beautifully carved. It is the gate of the ancient Roman city-state!

Aegean Coast

avatar
真诚7577
History slowly continues in the interplay between the Acropolis and the Aegean Sea, the busy city and harbor, the buzzing whistles of cruise ships echoing in the cradle of ancient Greek and European civilization, and the ruins of highly developed city-states in the Aegean Sea...

İzmir Historical Elevator Building

avatar
Miko Fujie
An elevator tower that you can see through the fashionable restaurant street. You can ride for free and overlook the city of Izmir and the Aegean Sea from above! It was the most beautiful view I've seen in the city. Get off the elevator and there is a restaurant on the right where you can have a light meal. I recommend aiming for the timing of sunset!

Ankara Castle

I recently visited Ankara Castle, and it was a great experience. The castle sits on a hill, giving amazing views of the city. Walking through the old stone paths felt like stepping back in time. The area is calm and has a few local shops and small cafés nearby. It’s a perfect spot for history lovers and anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet place with beautiful scenery.

Mausoleum for former Turkish leader

avatar

A must-visit place in the capital of Turkey The starting point of the journey starts from Ankara. If you come to Ankara, the Mausoleum of the Father of Turkey is a must-visit place. This attraction is a large square. The building is not very tall, but the overall feeling is very solemn. The architectural background can only be explained by the tour guide and translator. The nameplates are not in Chinese and cannot be understood. The soldiers standing guard are very interesting. They are really motionless. Many times they don’t even blink. At first, I thought they were sculptures. There are also naughty children in Turkey who ride on stone lions to play. Many elementary school students went to visit and greeted us with "hello". They were very enthusiastic and magical.

Hot Air Balloon Cappadocia Experience

I was very satisfied with the hot air balloon trip, especially the video taken by the hot air balloon driver. I couldn't receive it because the file was too large. Ctrip customer service took the trouble to help us communicate. I finally received it after returning home. Thank you Ctrip.

Goreme Town

In the morning, when countless hot air balloons rose from the town of Goreme, the unparalleled romance was also figurative at the moment. Life is worth it (the pictures are all original cameras, no filters)
