Leaning Tower of Pisa

One of my lifelong dreams was to check out the leaning tower of Pisa, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I even conquered the most famous architectural blunder in history by climbing to the top!

Cinque Terre

We visited Cinque Terre on a day bus tour from Florence and despite a confusing rushed start to the morning once we were on the bus headed for La Spezia things seemed to calm down. We were able to visit 4 of the 5 villages that make up this quaint area.Taking the train from La Spezia our first stop was Monterosso. We had lunch a little beach side restaurant. Pasta because when in Italy... From there we made our backwards stopping at Vernazza where it was a short walk down to the water from the station and the first taste of the iconic fishing village vista that is synonymous with Cinque Terre. Before moving on to Manarola and finally Riomaggiore where we were able to catch the start of a beautiful sunset. There was a lot to fit in one day especially with the lengthy distance to Florence but it was worth every minute.I would definitely look to stay in or near the villages if I were to visit again. The hiking trail across the 5 villages looks very intriguing.

Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower

It was a pleasant experience where you get to see multiple attractions in Florence. The architecture was so special and unique. The opera museum was the best to my surprise. The only con is that there is not much to see in Saint Mary's cathedral.

Uffizi Gallery

There is an immense amount of art work and you will enjoy this place if you are a lover of art. It really is large but I enjoyed specific rooms that had unique statues but the paintings were not so interesting to me...You have to come at the scheduled time and not earlier or later.

It's not hard to buy tickets in winter, just go there on time. But there were a lot of people queuing up on the day, so I bought the tickets on Ctrip and saved the queue. The museum is definitely worth a visit, and David is worth the price. Uffizi and Accademia Gallery, both are must-sees

Piazza del Duomo

[Piazza dei Miracoli] A group of religious buildings are scattered on the large lawn of Piazza dei Miracoli, including the Cathedral (built from 1063 to the 13th century), the Baptistery (built from 1153 to the 14th century), the Bell Tower (i.e. the Leaning Tower of Pisa) and the Cemetery (built in 1174). Their exterior walls are all made of milky white marble. Each is relatively independent but forms a unified Romanesque architectural style. They are all masterpieces of art in the history of architecture. Piazza dei Miracoli is one of the centers of the essence of medieval art and has a profound impact on future architectural design. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located behind the Pisa Cathedral. Address: Pisa, Tuscany, Italy, the square where the Leaning Tower of Pisa is located.

Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta

The facade design of the church and other buildings such as the West Hall are almost perfect, an organic combination of squares and triangles. It also has a dome, but many people do not notice it because the halo of the Leaning Tower is too dazzling.

Museo Ferrari

The Museo Ferrari, also known as the Ferrari Museum, is located in Maranello, Italy, near the Ferrari factory and headquarters. It is dedicated to the history and achievements of Ferrari, one of the most iconic and successful automotive brands in the world. The museum offers a comprehensive look at the company's storied past, its racing heritage, and its technological innovations.

Pitti Palace

The Pitti Palace is well worth a visit. I went there with the Boboli Gardens. The Boboli Gardens are just average. But the Pitti Palace has a rich collection and should be on the must-see list.

Battistero

The Pisa Baptistery, also known as the Baptistery of St. John (Battistero di San Giovanni) is a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical building in Pisa, Italy. Its construction began in 1152, making it the second oldest building on Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli, between the cathedral and the bell tower, which is now the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. The Baptistery was designed by Diotisalvi, whose signature can be seen on two columns inside the building, dated 1153.
