Arashiyama Sagano Romantic Train

avatar
Kirito_Young
We went to Arashiyama in the summer, and the scenery was just as lush and green as usual in summer. The open carriages were cool, but the train had a strong diesel smell, so the experience was just average. If you have enough time, you can come and have fun, and you must come in the fall; if you don't have enough time, there is no need to make a special trip.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Kiyomizu Temple, an ancient temple hidden in the foothills of Higashiyama Mountain in Kyoto, Japan, is like a hermit walking from the depths of time, carrying the vicissitudes of thousands of years of history, exuding a unique and charming charm. When you step into the gate of Kiyomizu Temple, the first thing that comes into view is the vermilion wooden structure. Under the caress of the sun, it is bright and dazzling, as if telling the story of the millennium one by one. The ancient trees in the temple are towering, and the thick branches are intertwined with each other, like a giant umbrella for this holy land, isolating the hustle and bustle of the world. Moss spreads along the stone road, and every step seems to be stepping on the veins of history, soft and deep. Follow the winding path and you will see the main hall. The architectural style of the main hall is unique. The huge wooden platform built in the air seems to be a miracle growing from the edge of the cliff. It is called the "Kiyomizu Stage". Standing on the stage, leaning on the railing and looking into the distance, you can see the scenery of Kyoto. In the distance, the mountains are rolling and shrouded in mist during the rainy season, which contrasts with the scattered and simple houses. On December 4, 24, I visited Kiyomizu Temple. The maple leaves were like fire, dyeing the entire mountain forest into a gorgeous red ocean, which contrasted with the vermilion buildings of the ancient temple, and the beauty was breathtaking.

Arashiyama

I would say this - it's a very popular place..) but I still come here every time and find something new for myself! Morning is the best time to visit.

Fushimi Inari Taisha

My favorite site in all of Kyoto. The place is huge and the hike itself is more than 2 hours. There are lots and lots of torii. The place is popular but up there the more you go, the less busy it is.

Gion

avatar

The Japanese tourist attraction Gion is the largest geisha district in Kyoto and the most famous geisha "flower street" in modern Japan. The Edo Shogunate has a history of more than 300 years since 1665. A large number of traditional wooden buildings have been preserved, most of which are in the arcade style of the 1930s. Most of the houses on both sides of the street are two-story, and the first floor is a shop. This time I visited Gion around 4 pm and met a geisha on the path. Due to privacy reasons, I did not take pictures. The Gion buildings are worth seeing.

Sannenzaka & Ninenzaka

avatar
uztzuz
The famous Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka scenic spots in Higashiyama District, Kyoto, Japan. These two slopes were built in the early 9th century and have a long history of more than a thousand years. The quaint Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka attract tourists from all over the world to visit and travel. There are many historical and cultural relics and old shops here. Strolling here, you can experience the unique ancient charm and historical atmosphere of Japan.

Kyoto Railway Museum

Suitable for taking kids out, just in Meixiaoji Park, and then walk inside the aquarium. It is divided into two parts, outdoor and indoor, with various models on display, which is indeed far ahead of the country 😀 I didn’t make an appointment to ride the steam train. The indoor part talked about the development history and had many hands-on sessions, which was very friendly to children (≧w≦)

Yasaka-jinja Shrine

avatar
走遍天下XZ
Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto covers a large area. In a broad sense, it covers many small shrines scattered on the small roads around the area, as well as large forests and lawns around the area, as well as many small restaurants, coffee shops, and shops selling various snacks and handicrafts. It is open 24 hours a day, and it is another lively scene at night. This is not only a must-visit place for tourists from all over the world, but also a place for local residents to take a leisure walk. At noon, there are groups of students who bring lunch boxes to eat and play on the grass. The first time I came here was six years ago, and it hasn't changed at all. I will definitely come again!

How to get to Kyoto from Tokyo?

The most economical, night bus, starting at night in the morning, but very tired. It seems to be around 7000. Basically, tourists use the Shinkansen, and you can see Mount Fuji on the road very clearly. It seems to be around 12,000.
