1913 Songjeong Station Market

Songting Market is a traditional Korean market in front of Songting Station in Gwangju. According to the grandmother in the market, this market was built in 1913. In a few hundred feet of streets, in addition to the traditional market, there are vegetable and fruit shops and dry goods stores, butcher shops. There are still many literary coffee shops and cultural souvenir shops, which are rare places to punch in and take pictures.



The Gwangju Ecological Lake Park

Guangzhou Riverside Ecological Park (185124m2) is divided into theme areas, with nature observation centers, ecological experience centers, and more. In the flower area, visitors can see more than 170000 wild flowers such as rhododendron, forsythia, roses, rhododendron, and hydrangea. Visitors can also enjoy picturesque scenery among 3,000 trees. In wet areas you may see how birds hatch and grow.



Gwangju National Museum

Across the street from the Gwangju Folk Museum to the north is the free Gwangju City Museum, but this museum is not very interesting. Compared with the gorgeous Folk Museum, this one seems boring and too academic, but it still sorts out the history of the Hunan region: this was the territory of Mahan during the Samhan period, and Gwangju was once the capital of Baekje during the Baekje period. Because it is located in the middle of the maritime trade route from the Celestial Empire through Korea to Japan, it has also become an important exporter of the famous Goryeo celadon. In a broad sense, it can be considered the northernmost section of the Maritime Silk Road.
