Zhangjiajie National Forest park is a MUST VISIT place in China. It is difficult to explain with words how this place is, we are still staggered and stunned after visiting it… It is crazy cool, it is like a city with skyscrapers made out of mountains and greenery with insane formations and among them is misty, full of magical corridors and hollows in which some of them are raining like if it was the last day on earth and another ones chilled drizzling… We spent three days exploring the park and we had enough time to see all the places but the ticket is valid for 4 days, which is quite nice! 💙FEELING THE AVATAR EXPERIENCE💙 . . . #passionpassport #scenicspotguide #seasidephotoguide #summervacation #china

#chinatrip A stunning, breathtaking and awe-inspiring place. The inspiration for Pandora in the Avatar movie. An absolute must-see. The best time to see will be in early winter as the place will appear mythical and magical in the mist. The park comprised of dense forests, deep ravines, deep canyons, unusual peaks, caves, and pillar-like rock formations blanketed throughout the park. These pillar rock formations are what the park is renowned for around the world.

The area that became famous from the movie Avatar. Photos can never do this place justice. It's one of those areas you have to witness with your own eyes.

I am staying in Zhangjiajie, close to Dayong town, so booked a taxi to the site costing approximately 90rmb. I made sure to leave extremely early to beat the crowds and arrived at 7am. It was very easy to buy a ticket and considering the ticket gives you access to the park for 4 days, very cost effective. My ticket cost 224rmb. The ticket includes the shuttle bus journeys but not the cable car trips (65-75rmb), glass elevator (65rmb) or sightseeing train (38rmb). These have to be booked separately at the site. This did bump the cost up quite a bit. The park is huge! I spent 2 days exploring. Everything is beautiful and easy to find if you have a map (our hotel provided us with a map and you can buy them on site). There are numerous highlights to see such as the first bridge, the Avatar shooting site, the glass elevator and Tianzi mountain. There are also lots of hiking trails offered and these are clearly labelled on the map. We hiked up Tianzi mountain, it was a fantastic experience that took about 2 hours. The visit requires a lot of walking so wear sensible shoes. There are plenty of food and drink options on site. There is also lots of shopping opportunities, I bought a beautiful oil painting of the mountains. Huangshi Village is the earliest scenic area developed in Zhangjiajie. Now not many people go there. You can walk for 2 hours to avoid the crowds. Ten Mile Gallery is great place to be visit by a small train. When you enter, you’d better to sit on the left side of the train and when you come out, you sit on the right side of the train. Three sisters mountain is the most significant attention.Although we caught the rain, but after the rain the air more fresh, misty like a fairyland! Here comes the very famous mountain that went to inspire to make Avatar movie. Yes, the hanging mountains are conceived by the look of these tall mountains amidst the clouds. We took the flight to Zhangjiajie and headed on to Zhangjiajie national forest park. We hiked all the way up, to make it worthy. And it didn't disappoint us. This place is full of UNESCO heritage sites, and has 5A ratings. The next day we went to the world famous glass bridge, where you feel like walking over the clouds. P.S. If you're afraid of heights, better to avoid this ! It is usually super crowded, so plan it off the season/weekdays if you can. The following day, we get to see the door to heaven; yea, that's what is said about the 天门山 (Tianmen shan) entrance. This entrance truly has that spiritual look and feel.
