    Yuan's 11th generation の City Place

    Original Text

From the early Edo period to the end of the Edo period, there were consistently part of honmaru and Ninomaru in the residence of the tozawa clan. Currently, it is considered to be Mogami Park, and when you enter through the water moat from a major company with a monument to Tozawa Shrine, you will see a magnificent stone wall on the right side, which seems to be the site of the turret gate of the turret gate. This Shinjo Castle Ruins is about 20 minutes northwest of the west exit of Shinjo Station. It is now maintained as Mogami Park. Honmaru and Ninomaru are the park areas. A moat and a stone wall remain. The garden has also been maintained and shows its appearance at that time.

From Shinjo Station on the Ou Main Line, go straight west on the main street in front of the station. It is about 1㎞. Shinjo Castle was built by Masamori Tozawa, the founder of the Shinjo domain, in the year of Kanei 2 (1625), and after that, it was the residence of Mr. Tozawa for 250 years, surrounded by honmaru moat and earthworks, and the castle tower of 3 layers. It seems that it was a flat castle with a corner turret in the corner. It was destroyed by fire along with the city during the Meiji Boshin War, and now the moat and stone walls of that time remain. The castle ruins are Mogami Park, and some of them are Tozawa Shrine, etc., and there were explanation pillars of the castle ruins in various parts of the park. ... in the moat
