From Shinjo Station on the Ou Main Line, go straight west on the main street in front of the station. It is about １㎞. Shinjo Castle was built by Masamori Tozawa, the founder of the Shinjo domain, in the year of Kanei ２ (１６２５), and after that, it was the residence of Mr. Tozawa for ２５０ years, surrounded by honmaru moat and earthworks, and the castle tower of ３ layers.
