This is a lighthouse built on a hill behind Masoke Station on the JR Rumoi Main Line (which was abolished in 2016). It is the 13th oldest lighthouse in Hokkaido, and you can overlook Rumoi Bay from Masoke Port, protecting the safety of the sea.

I took a route bus from Rumoi Station and stopped by for a walk in Masuhae. It is close to the old Masuhae Station. Built in 1873 and is now renovated to concrete. Good for walking around town ◯

Although it is a small lighthouse, it is painted on red and white stripes so that it stands out even in winter snow. There is also a bench in front of the lighthouse, where you can leisurely overlook the sea. The road to the lighthouse is paved, but the road width is narrow, so I was wondering if I would not take off the wheel or if an oncoming vehicle would come.
