Macau | Longevity and Portuguese Charm of the Indigenous Portuguese Residential in Rua do Cunha
Walking through Taipa's Cross Park, you can see five Portuguese-style buildings built in 1921, which were the official residences of senior officials in Macau at that time, as well as the homes of Macanese Portuguese families.
Macanese refers to a group of people who were born and raised in Macau, with Portuguese as their first language, mostly practicing Catholicism, and identifying with Portuguese culture as their primary culture and identity.
In 1992, it was listed in the Macau Cultural Heritage List and later renovated into the Casas - Museu da Taipa, a residential-style museum with Portuguese charm. From west to east, there are the Life House of Portuguese Charm, the Art Gallery, the Creative House, the Style House, and the Welcome House. It was opened to the public in 1999.
▶️Puyun Lifestyle Pavilion
Formerly known as the House of the Macanese People, it displays furniture and decorations from the Macanese people's former residences, imitating their living conditions at that time.
▶️Huiyi Gallery
Formerly known as "Island Home", showcasing a photo exhibition about Macau, with exhibition themes changing periodically.
▶️Chuanghui Museum
Formerly known as the Portuguese House, the first floor mainly sells books, stamps, handicrafts related to Macau and Portugal. The second floor introduces the history of Macau.
▶️Scenic Hall
Formerly known as Exhibition Hall, mainly used to hold various types of thematic exhibitions, mainly focused on photography and Western painting.
▶️Welcome Inn
Not open to the public, mainly used for official banquets.
Nearby is the Church of Our Lady of Carmo, built in 1885, which is the only Catholic church in Taipa. The exterior walls are beige and there is a bell tower on top.

Long Huan Portuguese style residential museum.
The Taipa Houses–Museum is housed in a set of old houses in Taipa, Macau, China. The museum complex consists of five houses, of which four display various artefacts and exhibits on life during Macau's colonial era while another serves as an event venue. The houses were built in 1921.
It is a quiet place. Suitable for taking pictures and collecting the atmosphere. Good memories Knowing the history of the community, taipa Village
This is a free attraction, very beautiful, about 10 minutes walk from the food street, a total of 5 mint green houses are very good to take pictures, of which 1 or 2 buildings can be opened to visit.
The layout is comprehensive, elegant, high-level, good environment, orderly, and comprehensive publicity reflects Macau culture. I hope that the small fishermen film broadcast by the museum can be used in Mandarin or with subtitles, which is convenient for non-Cantonese tourists to visit and learn.
Taipa Houses is a very important cultural heritage spot in Macau and it represents charming Portugal architectural style. It was wonderful trip and places I've visited.
