In fact, this scary Devil's City is a naturally formed Yardang landform, Yardang means 'steep hill' in Uighur. Yardang landform is a type of wind erosion landform formed in a dry and windy environment. The hills are blown by the wind to look like various buildings, some like the Six Harmonies Pagoda on the Qiantang River, some like the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, some like the Pyramids in Egypt, some like Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and even some like a soaring eagle. Because of its unique scenery, many movies choose to shoot the Devil's City as a location, such as the Oscar-winning film 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'. There are two routes to the Devil's City: one is to drive in, with a charge of 60 yuan per person, and you can choose your own route, and you will see various different scenes. There is a small train in the scenic area that you can take, currently there are 4 stops, each stop lasts for 10 minutes, enough for everyone to take pictures. From Burqin to Karamay, the nearly 300 kilometers journey features only one scenic spot along the way—the World Devil City. Why is it called this name?
