Zhouqiao Ruins

Zhou Bridge is a famous bridge at the intersection of Yujie and Bianhe River in the Northern Song Dynasty. Zhou Bridge was first built in the Tang Dynasty and was named Bianzhou Bridge. It was called Bian Bridge in the Five Dynasties. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Bianhe River was called Tianhe and the bridge was renamed Tianhan Bridge, commonly known as Zhou Bridge. Zhou Bridge has a wide bridge deck and is very imposing. The story of Yang Zhi killing the rogue Niu Er in Water Margin took place here. There were many night markets on both sides of Zhou Bridge in the Northern Song Dynasty. At present, Zhou Bridge is buried on the south side of the intersection of Zhongshan Road and Dazhifang Street in the downtown area of ​​Kaifeng. In 1984, archaeological excavations discovered a complete ancient bridge with a width of 30 meters.
