Without a photo with the floating wood decoration "HOKITIKA", it is equivalent to not been to Hokitika, not to the west coast of the South Island. The Hokitika tourism brochure compiled by the New Zealand Tourism Bureau, the home page picture is the sunset accompanied by the photo of "HOKIDIKA". A 3-minute walk west from the town's bell tower, through a small gateway, Hokitika Beach is in front of you, the whirring sea breeze, the waves, slapping the black stone beach. The floating wood decoration and the stone green sofa not far from the beach are the most eye-catching objects, tourists often consciously queued to punch in. The preference of small town residents for floating wood "HOKIDIKA" is almost persistent, whenever the wind destroys the decoration of the local or even all, no more than 24 hours, must be renovated with floating wood dead branches available on the beach.

The town is a pure land of only a few hundred people. Because of its location on the west coast, the location determines that the beach here is a great place to watch the sunset. However, the weather is cloudy and varied.
Hokitika Beach is a peaceful and beautiful beach, with an open sea, coconut trees swaying with the wind, and a warm island style. The sea here is very clear, the beach and reefs blend together to form a beautiful beach scenery, it is worth a walk, blowing the sea breeze.
It is a representative West Coast city on the South Island. It is a place with a lot of jade. The color of the beach is unique
Hokitika Beach, located in the West Sea of South Island, New Zealand.
Hokitika Beach is characterized by a lot of branches and stones. There are many HOKITIKA logos on the beach, and the stones are more colorful. This is the famous green jade origin of New Zealand, so Hokitika is also called the town of green jade. The town is said to have a permanent population of only 4,000 people, so walking on the road often sees empty streets.
Our homestay is not far from the seaside of Hokitika, we decided to go to the nearby beach first. The weather was sombre. At this time, we were no longer hopeful about the sunset. However, as we walked along the coastline, suddenly a pink beam was shining on the sky. Sighing the magic of nature, here, we actually saw the most beautiful sunset, at least in my opinion is the most beautiful. Everyone feel it. Various colors are intertwined.
