島の南東部にある展望台

八丈島南東部、末吉地区に向かう途中にある展望台です。島の南部の様子が一望できる、非常に良い展望台です。あまり観光地化されていない、寂寞たるアトモスフィアに溢れており、南海の孤島に来ていることを実感できる良い場所です。また、震洋特別攻撃隊の碑もあり、これについても歴史的背景を知っていれば、より感慨深いものがあるかと思います。

地味な展望台

1周道路の横にあるので寄ってみました。 駐車場のすぐ横が展望台になっています。 島の南端なので海の景色が広がっているだけです。 下を見ると港のようなになっていました。
