Once a vast imperial garden complex for the emperors of the Qing dynasty, Yuanmingyuan is renowned for its grandeur, artistic design and cultural importance.
The Old Summer Palace, also known as Yuanmingyuan or Yuanmingyuan Park, originally called the Imperial Gardens, and sometimes called the Winter Palace, was a complex of palaces and gardens in present-day Haidian District, Beijing, China.
Spending half a day at Yuanmingyuan Park in Beijing is a captivating mix of history and natural beauty. Arriving in the morning, I began exploring the vast ruins of the Old Summer Palace, marveling at the remnants of Western-style stone structures and ornate Chinese pavilions. Walking through the picturesque gardens, I enjoyed the serene lakes and winding pathways, capturing the essence of its former grandeur. I visited the stunning lotus ponds and crossed elegant bridges.
